I wanna love like from Moulin Rouge, with a few exceptions:
1. I'm not a prostitute
2. I'm not dying
3. It takes place in America
4. We don't break out into song every few minutes
For those who haven't seen this movie, see it. I'm literally mad at myself I didn't watch it sooner. I just thought it was a bunch of whores prancing around in cabaret attire (Thank you Christina Aguilera, Pink, Mya, and Lil' Kim). I was SO wrong. Christian, the trying poet, fights to the death for the girl, who happens to be a talented... prostitute. The story is centered around love. And fate, in my opinion. You see, they weren't even supposed to meet! It was like a big mistake, ding ding ding fate. Fate, love, beauty, etc. It's just an incredible love story. I mean, it's false and everything, but still. It makes you kinda think. Like, does fate like this ever occur in real life? Do guys like Christian exist? Why would he fight so hard? HOW is Nicole Kidman's waist so freakin' tiny in that costume? Anyways, no spoiler alerts or anything, but have tissues handy.
I know boys like Christian and Romeo and Tristan and Prince Charming and Justin Bieber exist. They're out there, ladies. Don't settle for less than what you think is perfect. God has your Bruno Mars out there, ready to serenade you. If a boy treats you more like a mom or a hassle or whatever he thinks you are, rather than like the princess you should know you are, put him straight or leave his butt. Like I said, "settling" should never be a word in your relationship vocabulary.
You. Are. Beautiful.
I leave you with a quote from this darling movie about prostitutes
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return."
Love & Creep,
Jess
